The watchmaking company Citizen has launched a new Bluetooth-watch AIBATO M which can be connected to a mobile phone.

The new watch is offered in two variants. Each measures 43.6 x 54.3 x 13.3 mm and weighs around 100 grams which is equal to an average weight of a mobile phone. The watch allows wireless connecting to the phone to check inbox messages or received calls as well as e-mail messages.



After a new message or call is received the Citizen AIBATO M makes a sound or visual alerts or simply turns on vibration mode to inform the owner. The only disadvantage is that the new watch will work only with a limited number of mobile phone companies – the devices by Sharp and Softbank are the most likely to be among them.



The new Citizen AIBATO M is going to appear at Japanese market on July 1, 2009. The price of the new gadget is still unknown as well as the plans upon support of a wider range of mobile phones.

What is more, the watch can work for 6 months without sunlight charge. The watch is really very accurate due to its radio receiver which daily gets signals from the USA radio and resets the time. There are also European and Japanese radio analogues in the radio. But even without radio support the watch lose only 15 seconds per month. As the watch is considered to be a pilot watch the most valuable options is moving between time zones without any watch reset. So you can easily know the exact time of the country you’ve chosen. Two watch dials show UTC and 24 hour time.
